Coal Exports to India from South Africa Falls
May 17, 2010 @ 6:40 pm In Coal Company News
One of the largest export coal terminals in the world, Richards Bay Coal Terminal [1] (RBCT)'s exports to India from South Africa has fallen from 2.5-million in March to 1.7-million tonnes in April. The fluctuation is due to rail capacity constraints.
One exporter is quoted saying:
"The Indian demand is still very strong and steady, there's no question that they need the coal. They just don't like prices of over $90 or firm freights.'
