Riversdale plans Mozambique coal exports by 2011

Riversdale Mining (RIV.AX) reported that the company plans to start exporting 2.0 million tonnes of coal from Mozambique by the end of 2011 and to boost this to 5.0 million tonnes by 2013.

The press release is quoted as saying:

Riversdale’s Chief Financial Officer Niall Lenahan told Reuters at a mining conference in Cape Town the company would also seek joint venture partners to build a 500 megawatt coal-powered plant to export electricity to South Africa.
